今日は、DIOGUARDIについてお知らせをしたいと思います。

 

 

DIOGUARDI (ディオグァルディ)は、トラウザーズテーラーであるDaniel Dioguardiさんによって製作されるブランド。

 

 

今年の4月に初めてのお披露目となる販売イベントを開催しました。

 

 

その際に、ロンドンのアトリエを訪問したときのことや、製作するトラウザーズについてなど、3回に分けてshop talkに掲載を致しました。

 

 

そちらの内容もご覧頂けましたら、どのようなブランドであるのか、少しご理解を頂けるのではないかと思います。

そもそもDIOGUARDIは、、、

 

 

 

・Collection Trousers

ヨーロッパ各地で厳選された素材を用いて、テーラーとの協業により製作されるもの。

トラウザーズの細部を深く理解しているデザイナーが、伝統的に受け継がれてきたディテールに敬意を払いながら、独自のデザイン思想を注ぎ込むことで、あらゆる箇所に価値を持たせることを目指したトラウザーズ。

 

 

・Re.Touched Trousers

ヴィンテージやユーズドの一本のパンツ(デニム・ウール・コーデュロイ・チノ)をベースとし、自らがアトリエでDIOGUARDIのスタイルに構築するもの。

これまでで培った”既に存在するものをカスタマイズする技術”を駆使し、全く新たなフォルムのものへとつくり変えたトラウザーズ。

 

 

 

以上の二つのシリーズが存在する。

 

以前の4月には、”Re.Touched”シリーズをメインでお披露目致しましたが、パリショールームよりスタートする今回から、両方のシリーズのどちらもを皆様にご覧頂け、ご検討頂きたいと思っています。

 

 

そして、今日は、これまで”Re.Touched”についても、着用している写真を掲載してこなかったため、どのようなトラウザーズなのかを改めて紹介させて頂きたいと思っています。

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Re.Touched Trousersのシリーズ。

 

先述の通り、”デニム・ウール・コーデュロイ・チノ”と4つの素材のバリエーションがあります。

 

 

全てに共通することは、ベースとなるのは、ヴィンテージもしくは、ユーズドの大きなサイズのパンツ。

 

複数本を組み合わせるのではなく、一本のパンツをもとに、それを素晴らしいほどの造形美に仕上げます。

 

 

また、元々の個体が持つシームを分解することなく、前身頃と後身頃、ウエストベルトにハサミを入れ、新たに造形を構築するという方法で製作を行ないます。

 

 

それによってつくられるRe.Touched Trousersは、どれもが輪郭が際立ち”一貫したDIOGUARDIのスタイル”に仕上がっています。

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

僕自身は、パンツは内股側のアウトラインがどのように出るのかということが重要だと思っていますが、内股はもちろん、どの角度から見ても、滑らかな曲線で輪郭が描かれます。

 

そして、ハイウエストに近い構造で、腰回りやお尻周りをしっかりと包み込む。

 

ウエストはフィットさせながら、股周りには意図した空間を設けることで、”面”をつくり、そこから裾に向かってテーパードを効かせる設計です。

 

 

それにより、狙いを定めた自然なカーブで流れるようなアウトラインを描き、美しいトラウザーズに仕上げるというもの。

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

更に、トラウザーズを印象付ける”裁ち切り”の箇所。

 

これは、DIOGUARDIの思想が強く現れるディテールである。

 

 

ブランドの礎として存在する”テーラー”という文脈。

 

テーラーでは、着用時の見え方、着心地、動きやすさということを、表からは見えない内部の構築により、どこまで高めることができるのか、そのつくり込みに重点を置く分野である。

 

 

そのような”内側”に向き合ってきたからこそ、それを露出させることに”美”がある。と考えています。

 

 

それが、DIOGUARDIのトラウザーズテーラーとしての思想である。

 

 

そのために、ウエストのマーベルトや芯地、ポケットの袋布や、ライニングが露出し、ブランドの美意識を反映させています。

 

 

また、一点一点のベースとなるパンツの特性が異なるため、その原型を読み取った上で、DIOGUARDIのスタイルとしてつくり上げる必要があります。

 

 

元あるベースに対して、”どこに、どの角度でハサミを入れるのか”をデザイナー自身の感覚で判断し、手を入れていかなければならないため、ロンドンのアトリエで自らが製作を行ないます。

 

 

そのような性質もあり、現状では年間の生産本数の限度が決まっています。

 

以前に公開したロンドンのアトリエで、自らが製作をしているというRe.Touched。

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

こちらがロンドンのアトリエでの製作する様子。

 

 

現状では、製作できる数量に限界が出てしまっていますが、僕自身は、その”数量限定感”による希少性というよりも、

 

 

DIOGUARDIがブランドとして持ち得る”絶対的な価値”というものが確かに存在すると感じています。

 

 

それは、実際に完成したトラウザーズを見ていると強く思う。

 

 

 

 

 

 

上の写真をご覧頂けると、着用時の何気ない動きの中で、

 

真っ直ぐ伸ばしている右足と、曲げている左足とで、とてもメリハリある表情を持つ。

 

 

DIOGUARDIのトラウザーズは、着用者に無理なく追従し、普段の動きの中でも、常に美しくエレガントに演出してくれます。

 

 

真に”クオリティの高いパンツ”は、着用者の動作に自然に合わせて、美しさの表情を変える性質を持っていると思います。

 

このことは、工業的に、機械的に量産をされる洋服では、非常に実現が難しいことではないでしょうか。

 

 

 

また、僕がRe.Touchedのトラウザーズを穿いていて感じているのは、

 

 

着古した際に、もっと”向こう側に見えるカッコ良さ”がありそうだなということ。

 

 

自分にとって、そのことがとても価値があると思っています。

 

 

 

これは、一般的に言われる”経年変化”ということとは、全く違う意味合いなのですが、着古して、生地が褪色したりしても、そこにDIOGUARDI特有の魅力が溢れてくるのではないかと感じています。

 

 

ベースとなるパンツは、既につくられてから時間が経過しているものです。

 

それが、より使うことで焼けていったり、使い古されていって、でも、デザイナーがハサミを入れて、構築されたRe.Touched Trousersの美しいアウトラインは変わってしまうことがない。

 

 

“着古されているのに、どこかエレガント”

 

 

そのような表情のパンツになるのではないかと、とても期待しています。

 

 

それがDIOGUARDIのRe.Touchedのトラウザーズが、所有者を待ち受けている一つの世界でもあると思います。

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

どの素材であっても、非常に鮮明で、はっきりと輪郭が描かれるRe.Touchedのトラウザーズ。

 

 

ベースとして使われるパンツは、それほどまで形状を追求されずにつくられていたものではあると思う。

 

 

そのようなパンツが、DIOGUARDIの手によって、ここまでエレガントなものに仕上がっていることがすごいことだと思います。

 

 

このテクニックは、とても価値があることであり、これこそがデザイナーが磨いてきた技術とセンスの賜物。

 

 

 

また、4月のお披露目のタイミングでは、このshop talkに掲載をしているもののように、ダークトーンが中心でした。

 

このパリショールームからは、カラーバリエーションも豊富につくってもらうことができましたので、より選択肢として広がっていると思います。

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

見る箇所や、動きの中で見せる表情が変わるDIOGUARDIのトラウザーズ。

 

実際に着用している様子を見ていると、とてもドラマチックな顔つきです。

 

 

デザイナーが培ってきたものを駆使して、ハサミを入れ、縫製し、仕上げ、構築すること。

 

 

その工程を経ていくことで、もともと存在していた古いパンツに、体温が加わり、そこに生命が漲るかのよう。

 

 

実際に、代表の秋吉と、アトリエでの製作の様子を見に行き、その後に自分自身でも、身に着けて、そこからじーっとDIOGUARDIのトラウザーズを見続けてきて、そのように感じます。

 

 

これから始まる展示会では、僕自身も、バイヤーとしてやっていた頃から存じ上げている、全国の名のあるセレクトショップのバイヤーの方々に既にアポイントを頂いている状況です。

 

 

そのような皆様にご覧頂けることを大変楽しみに思っております。

Since earlier this week, we’ve been posting information about the upcoming Paris showroom starting next week on both this shop talk platform and on our Instagram account @le_berger_tokyo.

Today, I would like to share an update on DIOGUARDI.

About DIOGUARDI

DIOGUARDI is a brand created by trousers tailor Daniel Dioguardi.

In April of this year, we held our first-ever sales event to introduce the brand. At that time, we published a three-part shop talk series covering our visit to the London atelier and the making of DIOGUARDI trousers.

We encourage you to read those articles as they provide insights into what makes this brand special.

Two Lines by DIOGUARDI

 

Collection Trousers
Made in collaboration with tailors, using carefully selected fabrics from across Europe. The designer, with deep knowledge of trouser construction, injects his design philosophy into traditional tailoring details, creating garments where every part holds value.

 

Re.Touched Trousers
These are crafted from a single pair of vintage or used trousers (denim, wool, corduroy, or chino), reconstructed into the DIOGUARDI silhouette. Leveraging a refined skill in customizing existing garments, these trousers are transformed into entirely new, sculptural forms.

 

In April, we introduced mainly the Re.Touched line. Starting from the Paris showroom, both lines will be on view and available for consideration.

 

The Character of Re.Touched

Today, we’d like to provide a closer look at the Re.Touched Trousers, as we haven’t previously shared worn images.

There are four material variations: denim, wool, corduroy, and chino. All pieces originate from oversized vintage or used trousers.

Rather than combining multiple garments, DIOGUARDI takes a single piece and reshapes it into a new sculptural form.

Without dismantling the original seams, he cuts into the front and back panels and waistband to build a new structure.

Each Re.Touched piece thus showcases the distinct DIOGUARDI style—clear contours, fluid lines, and consistency from every angle. In particular, the inner leg outline is carefully considered, producing graceful curves when viewed from any perspective.

With a near high-waist construction, the trousers snugly embrace the hips and waist. While fitting at the waist, intentional space is left around the crotch to create flat planes that then taper down elegantly.

This design ensures a beautiful, flowing silhouette with a targeted natural curvature.

One striking feature is the raw-cut detailing, a strong expression of the brand’s philosophy.

Rooted in tailoring, DIOGUARDI emphasizes unseen inner construction to enhance fit, comfort, and mobility—core principles of traditional tailoring. However, he sees beauty in exposing this inner world.

This is the very ideology behind DIOGUARDI as a trousers tailor.

That’s why elements such as the waistband’s curtain lining, interfacing, pocket linings, and inner structures are purposefully revealed to reflect the brand’s aesthetic.

Each base garment differs in nature, requiring the designer to interpret its shape and intuitively decide where and how to cut, making all pieces in his London atelier himself.

Due to this approach, annual production is limited.

Though production capacity is currently capped, I believe the value of DIOGUARDI lies not in its scarcity, but in the absolute worth of the trousers themselves.

Seeing the finished pieces reinforces this belief.

In the photos above, you can see how the right leg, extended, and the bent left leg produce a distinct, dramatic contrast even in casual movement.

DIOGUARDI trousers follow the wearer effortlessly, maintaining beauty and elegance throughout daily motion.

Truly high-quality trousers change their appearance gracefully with each gesture—something nearly impossible to achieve through industrial mass production.

 

Looking Beyond Wear

Wearing Re.Touched, I often imagine how incredible they might look after they’ve aged and faded.

This goes beyond the typical idea of “aging with wear”—I sense that DIOGUARDI’s appeal will shine even more as the fabric naturally ages.

The base trousers already have age, and as they continue to wear and weather, the elegant outlines sculpted by DIOGUARDI remain intact.

“Worn, yet elegant.”

That’s the kind of expression I’m excited to see these trousers evolve into.

I believe this is one of the unique worlds awaiting each Re.Touched owner.

Regardless of the fabric, the silhouette remains sharply defined and clear.

The base garments likely weren’t designed with such form in mind—making their transformation into something so elegant all the more impressive.

This technique is immensely valuable—a result of the designer’s refined skills and intuition.

 

Evolving Palette & Expressiveness

In April, the featured pieces were mostly in dark tones.

Starting from the Paris showroom, a wider range of color variations will be available, offering greater selection.

DIOGUARDI trousers change expression depending on how they are viewed and how the wearer moves. They take on a dramatic presence in motion.

Through expert cutting, sewing, finishing, and shaping, old trousers are reawakened with new life and warmth.

I’ve seen this firsthand—both while visiting the atelier with our director Nobu, and while wearing the pieces myself.

As we head into this new exhibition, I’ve already received appointments from renowned select shop buyers across Japan—many of whom I’ve known since my own days as a buyer.

I’m sincerely looking forward to sharing these works with them.

And I would be delighted if clothing enthusiasts could visit our public event in July to experience DIOGUARDI for themselves.
