先日より記載をしているDIOGUARDI (ディオグァルディ)。



お知らせをしていたように、期間は4月5日(土)〜13日(日)。

場所は、東京都内となりますが、この9日間でトラウザーズテーラーであるDIOGUARDIのRe.Touchedコレクションを直接皆様にご紹介させて頂きたいと思っています。




日頃から我々が大切にしているのは、そのつくり手、ブランドの”オリジナリティ”である。



明確に言うと、そのデザイナーのパーソナリティがどれほどまで深いレベルでものづくりに投影され、他の誰も同じようなものをつくることができないと言えるものを生み出せているのか。



このことはとても大切なこと。



つまり”そのつくり手の代替が利かない”ということは非常に尊いことであり、決して簡単ではないけれど、そういうものを実際に生み出している人物は、世の中に知られるべきだと思う。



それは、そのものを手にした方々も精神的な内面にきっと得られるものがあるはずです。



僕はそのことを知ることは、学びとなり、教養になるものだと考えているし、自分で実感をしてきました。


そして、この度紹介するDIOGUARDI。


先の記事で記載をしたように、デザイナーであるダニエル・ディオグァルディさん自身、これまで情熱を持って歩んできた洋服づくりの道のりが圧倒的濃度で反映されています。


それにより出来上がっているもののレベルの高さ。


今日は、実際に期間中、皆様にご覧頂くDIOGUARDIのコレクションの一部をもとに、そのトラウザーズのクオリティをお話させて頂きます。



まず、先日お伝えしたように、この度、皆様にご覧頂くのは”Re.Touched”というコレクションです。



これはダニエルさん自身が”自らのテーラーの経験”を活かして、ヴィンテージやユーズドのトラウザーズの仕立て直しを施しているもの。


単純なアップサイクルというものではなく、ヨーロッパのハイエンドブランド店舗の”専属テーラー”として、、、



「既に存在するものをカスタマイズする技術を学んだ」



という言葉。



Daniel Dioguardiというテーラーが施す、仕立て直しのクオリティを存分に体感できるコレクションです。



そして、アトリエで自らが製作した一点もののトラウザーズなのですが、全てが見事なまでの”DIOGUARDIのスタイル”で描かれています。



Re.Touchedコレクションでベースとするトラウザーズは、デニム・ウール・コーデュロイ・チノという、4つの素材。



それぞれがルーツも異なるトラウザーズであることから、元々の構造がまるで異なり、縫製仕様、パターン設計、ディテールなどが全く違う。



にも関わらず、”完成してるどれもがDIOGUARDIのスタイルとなっている。”ということ。



これは、とても驚異的なことだと感じています。



良いパンツとは、色々考え方があると思いますが、僕は自分の中で思うことがある。



その一つが、上記のような”そのブランドのスタイルがある”ということ。



DIOGUARDIは、これから世に出ることもあり、まだ誰も目にしたことのないブランドですが、既にそのスタイルは色濃い。



では、そのDIOGUARDIのスタイル。



僕が尊敬する人の表現を借りると、「控えめに言って、めちゃくちゃカッコいい」という出来栄え。




今回は、全4種類の素材の中から、デニムとウール、2種類のトラウザーズをベースに使ったものを一部紹介させて頂きます。

 

まず、デニムをベースとしたもの。

 

Re.Touchedのコレクションは、一本の大きなサイズのパンツをもとに、新たなフォルムでつくり上げます。

複数本をドッキングさせて再構築するということではなく、あくまでも一点の個体を用いたものとなります。


それは、元あるものを”テーラーとしてのトラウザーズ”につくりあげるためである。と言えます。


また、もともとパンツに存在したシームはそのまま活かし、一切の手を加えることがありません。

新たにフォルムを形成するのが、前身頃の中心に入り、ウエストベルトから裾まで貫かれた”大きな切り替え”。

そして、ウエストベルトと腰位置に入るダーツ。

 

後身頃のヒップ部分から入るダーツ。



この”前身頃の切り替え”と”後身頃のダーツ”で、全てのフォルムを再び仕上げているというのがRe.Touched。




なのですが、、、そのクオリティ。





僕は度肝を抜きました。






こちらを見て。

こちらの写真の”股の箇所”にご注目ください。



身頃の足の付け根に位置する部分が、もう一方の身頃に柔らかく食い込んでいるのがご覧頂けますでしょうか？？



この部分は、ハンガーにかけた状態で、DIOGUARDIのトラウザーズの”超造形の片鱗”を感じさせるものです。



これが実際に穿いた時に、衣服内に空間が生まれ、前の股部分に”面”ができる。




更に、僕はパンツを語る上で、非常に重要なのが”内股のライン”であると思っている。




パンツは”シルエット”という言葉が切り離せない存在ですが、大半のケースでは、その”シルエット”という言葉は、パンツの”外側(アウトサイドシーム側)”を指して言われていることを目にしてきました。




しかし、どのようなパンツであっても、外側は、重力に従って、必ず真っ直ぐに綺麗なラインが出るものです。




重要なのは、その重力によって、ダレて落ちてしまう”内股(インサイドシーム側)”である。




内股側の生地が重力によって、ダレて落ちることなく、はっきりとした輪郭が描かれることが非常に大事であり、”内股(インサイドシーム側)”でシルエットの出来栄えが左右されると僕は考えています。



Re.Touchedのコレクションでは、ベースとなる個体に、もともと施されているシームの構造を壊すことなく、ダニエルさんが自ら前身頃にハサミを入れ、”ここしかない”という位置で身頃を再度繋ぎ合わせることで、見事なフォルムを描くトラウザーズをつくり上げてる。




このことは、実物を見て頂けたら、きっと皆様にご納得頂けると思います。

深めの股上でハイウエスト、そして、通常のデニムなどのカジュアル素材のパンツと比べ、バックのウエストベルト位置が高く、柔らかく腰を包み込むフィッティング。


また、先述の通り、股部分からワタリ周りにかけて”面”をつくり、造形を演出するためのゆとり分量。


そして、そこから自然なテーパード。



これが”DIOGUARDIのトラウザーズのスタイル”である。



その着用時のフィッティングの心地良さも、目に見えるアウトラインも、途轍もなくレベルが高いものと言える。

どの素材のものであっても、裾は、クラシックなトラウザーズの処理が施されることが特徴です。

こちらは裏からの写真です。

全てが一点ものであるため、個体によって裾裏の分量は異なりますが、大体5cmから、多いもので10cm程の生地が裾裏に残されています。

 

 

ご覧のように、こちらはブラックデニム。


先ほどのグレーデニムよりもシャープなアウトラインですが、仕様やフォルムの特徴などは共通です。

噴き出す糸の数々。


これは、DIOGUARDIのトラウザーズの特徴の一つでもあり、最終仕上げでダニエルさんが、ブラッシングをかけ、意図的に糸を露わにしたもの。



表地の糸だけではなく、ポケットの袋布や裏地など、”内側に存在するもの”までもが現れる。




この”露出”は、一見するとラフにも見えるディテールではありますが、それまでのDIOGUARDIのトラウザーズの設計は、非常に緻密であり、全てにおいて考え尽くしている。とダニエルさんは言います。




その上で、最終的な美しさを生み出すのは、内なる美として、”未完成”のような粗さである。と。




単なるデザイン手法ではなく、エレガンスの一部として”精緻さ”と、”未完成”のようなアヴァンギャルドな美学との間で、自分のバランスを築いている。と言っています。




つまりは、非常に細かく、手の行き届いた技術がある上に成り立つデザイン設計であるのがDIOGUARDIのトラウザーズ。



目に見えるディテールは、ダニエルさんが今までに得てきたこと、目にしてきたこと、その全てを反映させて考え尽くしているもの。




実物の一点一点のトラウザーズには、そのことがオーラとなって宿っているのを僕はすごく感じています。

ハンガーの状態であっても、緩やかなカーブで、はっきりとした内股のラインが描かれる。

 

今回、デニムベースのものはブラックやグレーが中心です。


中には、経糸ではなく、緯糸がインディゴ染めという珍しいものを使用したデニム生地のものも存在します。

 

こちらがウールトラウザーズをベースとしたもの。



ウールとなると、ネイビーのピンストライプベースのものや、

 

グレーのピンストライプをベースとしたもの。

 

無地のカーキのものなど、ウールトラウザーズの本場ということもあり、表情の違うバリエーション。

デニム同様にもともと存在しているシームはそのまま活かしていますが、ウールベースのものについては、他の素材と比べるとウエストベルトのダーツや切り替え、摘みの数が多く構成されているのが目を惹く。

 

 

ウールトラウザーズは、もともとバックの腰部分にダーツが入っているものも多いのですが、それに加えて、多数のダーツを入れることでより一層の腰への柔らかなフィットを実現しています。


また、全てのトラウザーズが大きいサイズをベースとし、元の背中心のシームは触らず造形を構築しているため、バックポケットが中央から離れ、着用時には通常と比べ、脇に寄ることもRe.Touchedシリーズの特徴の一つですので、そのバランスも楽しんで頂けたらと思います。

ウエストベルトが強めにカーブした個体。



この特徴的なフィッティングはとても心地良いと思います。

ウール生地のものは、キュプラなど薄手の前半裏がベースについているものが多いので、表地とポケット袋布の糸だけではなく、光沢が強い糸が噴き出すコントラストも見もの。

また、ダーツや切り替えを多く施されたウエスト帯部分も、内側を構成するマーベルトや元の構造が最も複雑なこともあり、噴き出すディテールの濃厚さはウール生地のものが一番あるかもしれません。

 

精緻な構造と、あたかも未完成のようなディテール。


一点一点からブランドの考える美意識を深く感じられる。

こちらは、先程のものとは別モデルのウールトラウザーズ。


細身でシャープなアウトライン。

 

ウエストの内部構造が複数露出することで生まれるコントラスト。

これは元となるベースの良さですが、パンツポケット口まで表地と共地で縁取りがされる。



何気なくこのような仕様が存在しているのは、質の高いウールトラウザーズが見つかりやすいイギリスならではのことかもしれません。

ウールベースのものもまた、股部分の身頃が柔らかく重なり合う。

裾の処理はもちろんクラシックなウールトラウザーズの仕様です。



サイズ感等については、また後日記載を致しますが、DIOGUARDIというブランドの”高濃度なスタイル”、そして、実際に着用した際の”造形”。




今日紹介をしたのは、デニムとウールの2つの素材のものですが、残りのチノとコーデュロイでも同様。




Re.Touchedのトラウザーズは、アトリエで自ら仕上げているということもありますが、それだけではない、深く、強い力を持った洋服だと思います。

What we always value most is the originality of the creator or brand.

To be more specific, we ask: To what depth is the designer’s personality reflected in the craftsmanship? Are they creating something that no one else could replicate? This is a vital question.

In other words, the fact that a creator is irreplaceable is a truly precious quality. It’s not something easily achieved—but those who have reached that level of creation deserve to be known by the world.

We believe that such works can resonate with the inner spirit of those who wear them, offering a meaningful and enriching experience.
Personally, I believe that discovering such creations can become a form of learning and even a kind of cultural education—and I speak from experience.

Now, let me introduce DIOGUARDI.
As I wrote in the previous article, the designer Daniel Dioguardi has poured his years of passionate craftsmanship into this collection with exceptional depth and intensity.

The result is a level of quality that is truly outstanding.

Today, I’d like to share some of the DIOGUARDI trousers that will be on display during the event, and speak about their remarkable craftsmanship.

As previously mentioned, this time we will be showcasing the “Re.Touched” collection.

In this collection, Daniel uses his experience as a tailor to restructure vintage and used trousers.
But this isn’t just simple upcycling—it’s backed by years of expertise as a former in-house tailor for European high-end brands, where he mastered the art of customizing existing garments.

This is a collection where you can fully appreciate the tailoring techniques of Daniel Dioguardi.

Each piece is a one-of-a-kind trouser, handcrafted in his own atelier—and yet every piece is unmistakably designed in the distinct “DIOGUARDI style.”

The base trousers in the Re.Touched collection are made from four materials: denim, wool, corduroy, and chino.
Each of these materials has a different origin and structure, with varying sewing methods, pattern designs, and details.

Yet despite these differences, every completed piece embodies DIOGUARDI’s signature style.
This, I believe, is a truly astonishing feat.

There are many ways to define what makes a “great pair of trousers,” but one of my personal criteria is whether or not the trousers reflect a unique brand identity.

Although DIOGUARDI is a new brand about to make its debut, it already has a strong, unmistakable style.

So, what is the DIOGUARDI style?

To borrow the words of someone I greatly admire, “To put it mildly—it’s unbelievably cool.” This time, I’ll be introducing a selection of trousers from the Re.Touched collection, focusing on two base fabrics: denim and wool.

First, the ones based on denim.

The Re.Touched collection is created by reworking a single pair of oversized trousers into a new silhouette.

Rather than combining multiple pieces, each design is reconstructed using just one original garment.

This approach reflects the intention to transform what already exists into a pair of trousers crafted through the eyes and hands of a tailor.

Additionally, the original seams of the trousers are preserved and left untouched, maintaining the integrity of the piece.

What creates the new silhouette is a bold panel that runs through the center front of the garment, extending from the waistband all the way down to the hem.

Then, darts at the waistband and hip level help shape the silhouette—
along with additional darts extending from the back of the garment through the hip area.

This is what defines Re.Touched—the entire silhouette is reconstructed through the front panel insert and the darts on the back.

And yet… the quality.

It completely blew me away.

Please take a look at the “crotch area” in the photo.

You can see how the root of one leg panel gently presses into the other side—this subtle indentation at the crotch is a glimpse into the hyper-sculptural nature of DIOGUARDI’s trousers, even just on a hanger.

Once worn, it creates an intentional space inside the garment, forming a smooth plane around the front crotch area.

And when it comes to trousers, I personally believe that one of the most important aspects lies in the inner leg line.

The term “silhouette” is inseparable from trousers, but in most cases, it refers to the outer (side seam) profile.

However, with any pair of trousers, the outer side naturally falls straight due to gravity—so it’s almost always visually clean.

The real challenge is on the inner leg (inseam side), where gravity can pull and distort the shape. Maintaining a clearly defined inner leg line, without sagging or collapse, is critical. I believe that’s where the true silhouette is determined.

In the Re.Touched collection, Daniel carefully reconstructs the trousers without disrupting the original seam structure of the vintage base garments. He makes a precise cut down the front, and reconnects it at exactly the right spot—creating a silhouette that’s nothing short of masterful. Seeing the actual pieces in person will surely make that clear to anyone.

A deep rise with a high-waisted fit—compared to typical casual pants like denim, DIOGUARDI trousers feature a raised back waistband that gently wraps around the waist for an exceptionally comfortable and supportive fit.

As previously mentioned, the trousers are designed with a generous volume around the crotch and thigh to form a structured plane, sculpting the silhouette.

From there, the leg tapers naturally.

This is the signature style of DIOGUARDI trousers.

Both the comfort when worn and the visible outline of the silhouette are executed at an incredibly high level.

Another distinctive feature across all materials is the use of classic trouser hemming. Because each piece is one-of-a-kind, the allowance at the hem varies depending on the garment, but generally there’s a seam allowance of about 5 cm, and in some cases up to 10 cm, preserved on the inside of the hem.

Black Denim.

Compared to the previously shown grey denim, this one features a sharper outline, but the specifications and characteristic silhouette remain consistent.

The threads bursting outward.

This is one of the hallmarks of DIOGUARDI trousers. In the final stage of finishing, Daniel applies a brushing technique to intentionally expose the threads.

Not just the surface threads—even the pocket linings and interior materials, usually hidden, are revealed.

At first glance, this exposure may seem rough, but Daniel emphasizes that the structural design of DIOGUARDI trousers is extremely precise and intentional down to the last detail.

Within that structure, he believes the final expression of beauty comes from embracing a kind of “incomplete rawness” as an inner elegance.

This isn’t just a decorative touch—it’s a philosophy. He creates a unique balance between refined precision and avant-garde imperfection, forming a new expression of elegance.

In other words, DIOGUARDI trousers are built on an exceptional foundation of craftsmanship, and this design language arises only from that deep technical understanding.

Every visible detail reflects everything Daniel has learned, seen, and internalized—and you can feel that aura in each individual pair.

Even hanging on a rack, the gentle curve and clearly defined inner leg line are striking.

This season, the denim-based pieces are primarily in black and grey. In addition, there’s a rare piece made from denim where the weft yarn—rather than the warp—is indigo dyed, creating a unique visual and textural quality.

Wool Trousers as the Base

When it comes to wool trousers, the collection includes variations such as classic navy pinstripes,
grey pinstripes,
and solid khaki styles—showcasing a range of textures and moods, fitting for a brand deeply rooted in European tailoring tradition.

As with the denim styles, the original seams of the vintage trousers are preserved.
However, the wool-based pieces stand out for the greater number of darts, panels, and tucks at the waistband.

Many wool trousers traditionally feature darts at the back waist. In Re.Touched, Daniel enhances this by adding even more, achieving an exceptionally soft and natural fit around the waist.

All Re.Touched trousers are reconstructed from oversized vintage pieces, and the center-back seam is left untouched.
This results in the back pockets sitting farther apart, subtly drifting toward the sides when worn—an intentional and distinctive detail of the series.

There are even pieces with strongly curved waistbands, offering a unique and comfortably contoured fit.

Many wool trousers feature a partial cupro lining, so in addition to raw threads from the outer fabric and pocket lining, the contrast of shiny threads bursting from inside adds a rich visual effect.

Furthermore, because the waistband is often the most structurally complex area, containing multiple darts and the original inner curtain waistband (marbelt), the intensity of exposed, layered details tends to be most prominent in the wool pieces.

Refined construction meets deliberately “unfinished” aesthetics.
Each piece reflects the brand’s deep-rooted sense of beauty—visibly and structurally.

Another model from the wool trouser lineup differs from the previous one, showcasing a slimmer, sharper silhouette.

The contrast created by the exposed internal waistband structure adds an intricate visual depth to the piece.

You’ll also notice that the edge of the trouser pocket opening is neatly trimmed with the same outer wool fabric—
a subtle but refined detail often found in high-quality British wool trousers.
Such understated features are more commonly encountered in the UK, where exceptional vintage wool trousers are more readily available.

Just like with the denim styles, the front panels around the crotch softly layer and fold into each other—
a sculptural effect that becomes even more striking when worn.
If you’re intrigued, we highly encourage you to experience the fit in person.

The hemming, of course, follows traditional classic wool trouser finishing.

As for sizing and fit, we’ll provide more details at a later date, but what we want to emphasize here is the deeply concentrated aesthetic of the DIOGUARDI brand,
and the uniquely architectural form these trousers reveal when worn.

Today’s focus was on the denim and wool styles, but the remaining chino and corduroy models follow the same philosophy and craftsmanship.

The Re.Touched trousers are not only meticulously crafted by hand in the atelier—
they carry a depth, an energy, and a distinct presence that goes beyond technique.
